I heard Rachel Maddow make reference to the great singer/songwriter Marcia Ball, and I realized that this was almost certainly the same singer/songwriter Marcia Ball who played first base for the women's softball team I "coached" one summer in Austin. She was an excellent first baseman, and I am delighted she has found so warm a reception from the world as a whole. God bless, "Freda".

Saw Marcia for the first time at Dosey Does in The Woodlands. Saw she will be in Mason, TX on Feb 11 at the Odeon. Going to see her show with seven friends, one of which has lived the San Jose story... probably with his sixth wife... John Armour... Marcia knows your story.

My wife Jeanne & I just completed our "Winter Tour 2011" by going to Marcia's concert at the State Theatre in Falls Church, VA on 12/30 and then on down the road to the American Theatre in Hampton, VA on the 31st for her New Year's Eve concert. Great shows in both locations plus we got to meet Macia and all her band members at the New Year's party following the concert. We had a ball, no pun intended.

Loved the performance this past Thurs, 12/29/11 at the Sellersville Theater, Sellersville, PA. This was our 2nd Marcia Ball concert in a few years. My wife and I love her music. This is one tight band and Marcia is so gracious and humble when she chats with the audience. God bless you Marcia and members of the band and roadies. Be safe and keep making your healing music.
